Police have arrested a pastor in Mankessim, Central Region after he admitted to assisting a local chief in the kidnapping, murder, and secret burial of a 25-year-old nurse trainee.
The pastor and police investigators exhumed the body of the student nurse, Georgina Asor Botchwey, on Tuesday, September 20 in the room of the Tufuhen of Ekumfi Akwakrom, Nana Crack.
According to media reports, the nurse was kidnapped after the chief, who also serves as president of the Mankessim Traders Association, and the pastor engaged in sexual acts with her.
After the deeds, both the pastor and the local chief allegedly killed this beautiful trainee nurse and buried her in one of the chief’s apartments.
The pastor’s arrest was effected in Cape Coast and upon his arrest, he willingly admitted to the crime, then led the cops to the chief’s house, where the victim’s body was exhumed.
The victim’s body was buried nearly three weeks ago, according to reports. The victim’s bag, shoes, and other belongings were discovered along with the body at the chief’s residence.
Residents have expressed their surprise and outrage at the incident and asked the police to ensure justice is served.
The town of Mankessim was shocked, with people flocking to see where the body of the trainee nurse was secretly buried.
