The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has disclosed that over 60 coaches have applied for the vacant Black Stars head coach job.
According to him, most of the applicants are coaches from Europe.
Speaking to Asempa FM on the Ultimate Sports Show on Tuesday, Henry Asante Twum said the other applicants are from South America.
“Maybe over 60 applications. The Black Stars is very attractive. You cannot have Mohammed Kudus in your team and think the Black Stars are not attractive. It is an attractive brand, no doubt about that,” the Ghana FA Communications Director said.
Henry Asante Twum added, “I’m never surprised that coaches are constantly applying. Most of them are from European countries and some too from South America.
“So far no Ghanaian coach has applied for the Black Stars job.”
The Ghana FA is expected to appoint a new head coach for the Black Stars by the close of this month.
The coach will immediately prepare for the next round of qualifying matches for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
