2022 CHAN: John Paintsil selected by CAF as on-site commentator – Report

Former Ghanaian defender John Paintsil has been selected as an on-site commentator by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN), according to Joy Sports’ Muftawu Nabila Abdulai.


The 41-year-old has earned international recognition for his skills as a pundit.

Paintsil, who played for Ghana in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, has a history of success as a player and is now bringing his expertise to the broadcast booth. As an on-site commentator, he will be a co-commentator for CAF’s official broadcast across the globe.

After retiring, Paintsil turned his attention to punditry and coaching, quickly establishing himself as one of the best former players to become a pundit in Ghana. He has been a regular analyst for several TV and radio stations in Ghana, providing expert analysis and commentary on matches.

Paintsil’s selection as an on-site commentator for CHAN is a testament to his skills as a pundit and his knowledge of the game. He will be joining a team of experts from across the continent to provide in-depth analysis of the matches and offer unique perspectives on the teams and players competing in the tournament.

The 2022 CHAN tournament is set to take place in Algeria and will feature 18 teams from across Africa competing for the coveted title. The tournament is a platform for players who play in domestic leagues to showcase their skills.
